I dyed the stock on one to some kind of lime green.

Despite doing that, I think they're cool rifles but the prices on them seem to be creeping up. Especially the non 30-30 ones. Would really like one in 225 Winchester

Neat, I painted my ####ty Zastava in "Scott Shop Towel Blue" a couple weeks ago (very poorly, intentionally) before adding hockey tape where the checkering was and replacing the butt pad with a slip-on.

Any pictures of the green?

I agree, the green is not that bad. Or at least a lot better than I thought it would be. I recently inherited my dad's 340 in 30-30 win, scoped with a Bushnell banner 1.5-4.5x. It's staying just how it is .

Ah I was expecting a solid green, the transparent effect showing the grain certainly isn't unpleasant. I had a Les Paul guitar in a similar color!

I like the green. Have done this on a few, as well as grape purple. Any hardwood that won't take a stain, seems to take leather dye well.
