Savage bolt heads

If you have a magnum bolt head and want to go to a non magnum/short action cartridge in a long action is there a special bolt head you need? Or will a short action bolt head work in the long action? Thanks guys.

I do not think that there is any difference between long and short action boltheads.

Long and short action bolt head are different.

If you have a long action magnum then you need a long action standard.

the length of the stub can be different and thus effect firing pin protrusion

Now I am going to have to go through my Savage bolt heads. I know I have magnum, standard and .223 sizes.
