I have a Savage 10 TR rifle. I have a Boyds Pro Varmint stock. The stock is inletted for the factory bottom metal. I want a PTG or CDI bottom metal (the model for bottom bolt release, because I don't feel like messing with anything). My understanding is they both offer a bottom bolt release model, but of the pictures I've seen online, only the PTG shows a clear (ish) view of the bolt release. I can't seem to find anything showing the CDI version.

Which of the two bottom metal will be easier to work with?

I know I will need to do some inletting. How much of a pain in the ass should I expect this to be?

Inletting is inletting... fit properly and the CDI works wonderfully. The bolt release on the CDI works very nicely.. simple and effective. There is a tab that extends into the trigger guard area making it easy to reach and manipulate.

When you convert to the CDI, you are going to AICS type mags... can't use factory mags anymore.

Give me a shout and happy to discuss options

Thanks, Jerry. Do you still carry the CDI bottoms? I have a lot on my hands lately. I just might send everything your way to do this and truing work if your workload isn't crazy enough already.
