Savage Bottom Metal

I have an older Savage 308. It has the bolt release on the right side of the action.

It would be nice for some competitions if I could put a 10 shot mag in it. It has an internal blind mag, now.

Who makes a conversion kit at a modest price?

Any 30-06 length bottom metal kit for savage should work, I believe. For a long time, Savage only made on action length (early on they did make a medium length action, but dropped it after a few years). - dan

I had a PTG bottom metal imported from the US - there are two different action lengths as mentioned above, and this would do either IIRC.

Gary at Bighorn would be my call for another if I needed.

Measure the screw distance, 4.40" is the newer versions with top bolt release and round top receiver, your's may be different depending on vintage.
You can get Savage bottom metal direct from Savage for their detachable mags, they make 10 rounders, new stock would be required or heavy work.
