Savage Boyds stocks

Hi All,

I want to know if anyone has any pictures of their savage with a Boyds laminated stock on it. I am looking at buying a Stevens 200 and really dislike the stock on it. I can't seem get a sense of what they will look like on the gun from the pictures. Plus it's an excuse to show off your gun...

mine came finished and bolt on.

I finished mine by myself.

Pretty easy actually, Boyds sends you instructions on how to do it. Now that I've done a couple I feel pretty safe in doing my own stock if I have one made.

mine came finished and bolt on.

yah although the mkII required longer bolts for the wood stocks.
They are only available from savage or with the bottom plate/trigger guard kit.

And it needs a trigger guard too as the synthetic stock has one molded on.

Hey sorry, I've been at work all day. Thanks for all the the pics. They all look great. I think I'm going to go with a Forest Camo or the Royal Jacaranada.

My Mk.II needed a small bit of wood removed to fit the safety, it is an older receiver and the stocks are cut for the newer E model series. Took a couple of minutes with a dremel. I would recommend bedding it as well. You could just bolt it in and go, but no receiver is that good of a fit out of the box that bedding isn't a significant improvement.

As a newbie, would you recommend getting someone to bed it, rather than attempting it myself? I am very handy, but also don't want to muck up my new gun...

just google boyd's stocks, they'll ship anything to canada so long as the stock is under $100 (most of them)

ok so on the boyds website they have stocks for stevens short actions but i dont see one to fit the 4.400 action center to center hole spacing??
