Thanks for the input. Was looking at these and my girlfriend said she liked the way it looked haha. I'm trying to get her into shooting so I'm debating buying it for her.

I've got one that shoots well. I've done a few changes to it sinceI got it though. It got a paint job, new bolt knob, now sits in a Boyd's tacticool, and I gave it a trigger job and polished all the internals of the bolt.

(sorry for the crappy pic)

It shoots really well and I enjoy every shot I take with it. With good match ammo it will shoot MOA at 100 yards. at 50 yards it will shoot ragged holes.

I liked the evolution stock as I found it quite comfortable, but it wasn't quite practical for the type of shooting I do with it. I kept the evo stock to put on another Savage when I put one together for my wife. But thats a work in progress.

I made three BSEV equivalents from FVSS models... Stock, trigger, bolt and barrel work later... We really love the way they shoot... And they look great too.

Unless you really want the spiral fluting it would be alot cheaper to pick up a FVSS and put it in a Boyds Evo. Plus then you can choose your stock color.

Outstanding tack driver.

The ergos on the boyd stock is so comfortable to shoot.

Just a tad barrel heavy if you're looking at standing most of the time...but fantastic bench shooter.

Fit and finish is still a hit and miss, I went through three at my LGS until I found one that was perfect.

Where do you get the Boyd's stock? I didn't think they ship to Canada.
I've got the FVXP and would love to get a new stock for it, the original is...lacking

I just got a couple of boyds thumbhole stocks for my Marlin XTs. I just ordered them off the site and got them in a week or so. $149 to my door in NB

Going through the motions on the Boyd's site, it seems that $50 is quite high for shipping. But really, what other option do I have?
I guess I'd need the stock and the trigger guard/floor plate since I have the plastic stock already (has that built in)?

Yup you need those. As well as longer action screws. Call savage to order those.

Just ordered the stock and trigger guard/floor plate.
Does anyone happen to know the part number to ask Savage for the longer action screws?

Did you break it up into 2 orders? They cant ship orders over $100 out of the states(thats before shipping)

Part #'s
Take down screws, Boyds stock 106875. You need 2 of those
Mag plate screw 700688. You need one of those.
Rear trigger guard screw 100264. One of those

The #'s listed are the savage item code numbers.

Price was $46 shipped to Saskatchewan

Had one. Suuuuucked.

Accutrigger would lock up if operating the bolt from the shoulder for some reason (Mark 2 FSS does the exact same thing - it's a design problem).

Not that accurate. I have more accurate rimfires.

Not useful in the field.

Jams sometimes.

Chamber too tight. Many types of ammo FTE.

Forgot to split this into 2 shipments. Got a call from Boyd's this afternoon - it adds another $50 to shipping. A little too expensive for me for a stock. Shipping on $22 trigger guard was over twice its value.
Is there anyone else who will ship these to Canada without having to split them into multiple orders?
