Hi, I have a Savage 22 over 410 with the selector switch on the side of the action. Am looking to convert it to the new style hammer/ selector switch. Anyone know where I can obtain one?? . Thanks for any help.

Not too sure it can be done. The idea of the selector switch on the side of action sounds better than on the hammer if you ask me. The version on the hammer seems cheap to me.

Yes it can be done, I have one.

Selector on hammer never breaks, link/lever from side button selector has a weak spot and is prone to breaking so it would be a good upgrade even if it currently still works.

Have you checked numrich/gunpartscorp?

Have the version with the selector on the hammer and it is very handy. Never had any trouble and it has been well used. It is actually the older version. Mine has no serial # and the Savage rep said that means it was manufactured pre 1964. I was looking for a part when I spoke with him and he directed me to Numrich, this was about 7-8 years ago.

Thanks for your replies. Have ordered one from Reliable Gun. Yes, they are not exactly cheap but will return the Savage to be a great ATV. scabbard gun again.

Good luck with putting it in once you get it.
There is quite a bit of tension on the hamer spring, not the easiest to get out and back in but it's worth it :)

I got the hammer conversion from Reliable and as you said, not the easiest to fit but well worth it. I now have a combo gun with a reliable changeover system. Yes, not a cheap part but certainly a lot more durable than the original arrangement. !!!!!!
