Savage experience.

I've posted this previously, I only have one Savage, a 112BVSS in 25-06 and I've shot some of my tightest groups with it. Better than with most of anything else I have in my gun safe. 'Bang for the buck' that's hard to beat.

So was the stock defective? Or do they actually make melting stocks on purpose??? What exactly was the issue?

Yes the stock was warped, and the plastic (or whatever it is) was riding on the barrel, one hot day and LOTS of rounds and it was melting to the side of the barrel.
But all is well now.

My first rifle was a .22 savage, I love it and recently got a Stevens 200 also a great rifle! I plan on supporting them more in the future too.

Ok I have a question for anyone who has or does own one, is the Accustock worth the $. It seems like people are cutting ragged holes without them.

I too had a 93 in 17 hmr. Mine was a cheaper one and the plastic stock was terrible for softening and then touching the barrel, which would throw off accuracy. I could not use a bi-pod or rest without it deforming when it was hot out.

I traded it for a bedded cz because I could not get a replacement or upgraded stock for my little rifle.

On the other hand, I also purchased a Savage 10 Predator Hunter Mk1, with the accustock in .243. Wow...what a tack driver!

The accustock really, really works!

I have 3 savage rifles. stevens 22-250, savage 111 300WM, and an old stevens 30-30 I think its model 325.

Good rifles, and no complaints.

(oh and I also have several Savage built LeeEnfields)

...snip And yes they are made in Lakefield Ontario. want their phone number?

I just bought a 93 in 22mag, I tried sighting it in but ran out of adjustment. Pulled the rear sight ramp out and is still shooting about 2" high at 30 yards. The gun has the accutrigger, but there was no wrench or tool to adjust the trigger pull. Yes I would like their phone number. Want to call about the tool so I can adjust the accutrigger. Send me a pm

I current have and have had several different Savage rifles and they have all been really good shooters.

I was a big fan when they were the stepchild of firearms and also a well kept secret. I have a late 1970s 110E Series K with a "J" receiver that I still use for my yote gun. It will put 2 cold bore shots inside a dime @100yds if I do my part.

I hear really good things from folks about Lakefield. Was in SAIL the other day and the gun rep. spoke well of the Savage facility there.
Glad to hear they took care of you as Im about to purchase another Savage rifle if I can find it.

Cheers

I've got a savage .17 and .204,a stevens .223 coming and if they are keeping Canadians working ans made in Canada, hmm perhaps I should pick myself up a .308

Still own an all-stainless Savage BTVSS in .22 with the nice laminate walnut thumbhole stock. The Accutrigger works good on it. Its accurate, handly and a keeper. Nice to know its made in Canada.

Sold a Savage 10BA in 308 Win. Too heavy and cumbersome. The Accutrigger was way too sensitive and that dang lawyer approved safety thingy kept activating, no matter how slowly I closed the bolt or pulled the trigger. Nothing more annoying that getting your shots disrupted with a non-functional lawyer approved trigger... even after increasing the pull weight which runs counter to having a nice light pull!! Good freak'in riddance !

I lost count on how many Savages I'm at.

One of the truckers that delivers tar to me has a daughter working in the Ontario plant and she gave him a whole bunch of stuff to take to me when she found out I only collect Savage, mugs hats, etc... friggan awesome.

Call Savage today, waited about 10 to 15 mins before I spoke to a real person. But they were really nice, I called about the tool to adjust the accutrigger and a manual. Now it is on the way to me.

They have a toll free number...............1-800-370-0708

Ww

I have 2 model 16 weather warriors. One in 204 and an unfired 270wsm. I sold my howa Remington and brownings because they didn't compete with my savage. I will be shooting the 270wsm very soon.

Best production rifles on the market. Glad to hear they have good service.

I have a Mk 11 22lr, 93 in 17hmr, 10PC in 223, 11 in 243, 111 in 300 WM, 12 in 300 WSM, 116 in 300 RUM, 1899 in 303 Savage and trying to buy back a stevens 200 that i sold a friend, in 22-250. hopefully this years additions will be a 110 in 338 Lapua, a 11 lightweight in 6.5 Creedmoore and a 25 in 17 hornet. Savage has given me no reason to want any other bolt action rifle.
