Awesome. :D

Im thinking about buying a Savage 10FP in .223 to learn on, then glass bed the action and replace the barrel to a 30" 1:7 twist for the 80/90gr Berger VLDs.

Would you say that it would be easier and/or cheaper to just buy the Savage F/TR instead of the 10FP?

There's an F/TR in the EE for $800. Can't believe it hasn't sold yet, I might buy it! If you're going to get an FP, go with the hs or mcmillan model, then at least you have a usable stock. The stock on the fp is a joke.

Thought that model was offered (OEM) with 1:9 twist

If you look on Savage's webiste, they have both the 9 and 7 twists available. I shopped around and found no dealer with it in stock (only the 9 twist available) so I but it on backorder with Ellwoods.

15 weeks later it was in my hands, same price as the 9 twist. Not sure why dealers would offer the 9 twist more often than the 7 twist...
