Savage factory stocks

More like a Mustang and a Porsche. ;)

Basically, the HS is a nice stock, but the McM stock is actually still worth something when you take the action off... :nest:

Yeah but you see I wouldn't thank you for a Porsche.. I would for a mustang.. I prefer Meat and potatoes rather then cottage pie..

Hmm, lets try this again. as far as construction goes, does one offer a more stable or rigid platform over the other. I prefer the look of the McM, it feels better to me. I have yet to shoot either, so I would like to hear any pros or cons for either. Is there something that you guys found that is a piss off.

Also, if I know my cars, there is a difference between a Camaro and a Mustang. Appart form looks, they perform differently. An owner of either will be able to praise its good points, as well as know what they don't like about them. Interesting comparison, but a little knowledge and experience would help more than stating the obvious.

I think as far as the composition of the synthetic material used for the stocks, it's probably a tossup between the McM and the HS. I had the HS on my 10 FCP before I sold it and bought an AICS. The HS had the full aluminum chassis. I read in a review somewhere that the McM that Savage uses doesn't have a chassis or even pillars. I have not handled the Savage McM personally so cannot confirm this. Assuming that info is correct, then I would expect the HS to be more stable without bedding the action. Assuming you are going to bed the action, then get whichever one fits you best. For me, that ended up being the AICS that ATRS developed :D

thanks alot for the info, but no import issues? that's almost hard to believe, i thought the border was nothing but import issues.
