I've got a Savage Fox side by side 12 gauge. Stock has been repaired. The metal is really good.
Double triggers.
Can somebody give me a ball park value?
 
Is a Savage/Stevens Fox model B or is it an actual Savage Fox? Pics will tell a lot. If a model B it's around $300.00 with a repaired stock. Price might change a bit either way depending on the rest of the gun's condition.

It's a model B. The metal is pretty nice case colours pretty good.
I was going to chop the barrels to make a camp gun. Would that be a crime?

A Fox Model B is no great pleasure to begin with. One in the condition you describe would be worth $200 on it's best day. If any gun is to go under the knife, this sounds like as good a candidate as any.

As you probably already know, it's basically a gussied up 311. The underlying design suffers from several flaws. Don't expect it to last long under sustained use.
