Savage Lee Enfield rear sight marking

I have a Savage Lee Enfield MK4 No1* with the L sight. I cannot find an example of a sight where the 600 yard mark is also struck with a 4 (400). Anyone know what's going on?

The EAL's had the L sight stamped or restamped to 200/400 I think. Mine is buried to deep to check due to basement reno's.

Take some ammonia bore cleaner and a cotton patch and clean the rear face of the sight.

Yes EAL sights were restamped 200 and 400 over the 300 and 600
