Saw a Savage Lever 22 (apparently called a Revel?) sitting on the rack at a LGS next to some Henrys. Didn't pull it out or handle it. I'd not been aware of it before now. Anyone have and experience or opinions on these?

I'm waiting on one, they had some at the counter when they first came in and the fit / finish seems decent has a quick takedown, wierd stock lines. Same price as a henry though at $600....

I bought the Savage Revel DLX and have put some rounds through it. Took a BL-22 to compare it to. The Revel is heavier with a longer length of pull, longer lever throw, holds 3-4 less rounds, wouldn't cycle short 22's and the sights aren't as good. The Revel is almost half the cost so I wasn't expecting it to be better at much. . Some day I'll get a rail and see its accuracy but until then it will be a fun fast shooting little varmit weapon. Very smooth cycling action. Great job Savage! I'll be waiting for the 22 mag version this spring.

Lots of reviews on rimfire central. Mine has great fit and finish. Rails are still hard to come by, EGW seems to be the only so far. Haven’t seen a complaint yet

Me too. Reports seem good, haven't had the chance to handle one yet though.
I was able to handel one at BP but they use those stupid lever action locks and the guy would take it off. He was really trying to get me to buy the rifle but I told him I wasn't going to if I couldn't even try the action first. The fit and finish seemed nice.

I want a .22mag lever and waiting to hold one of these to see how I like it. If it's the same price as the Henry I doubt I'll be buying it unless it's really slick.

Of course made in this province and the Americans will have them before us lol
