Anybody know who would have or could get a savage long action 308 size bolt face large shank action and aproxamet cost? Looking at doing a new build and already have a barrel (would prefer single shot)

Savage did not make the large shank target action in a long action, they are all short actions, however if your set on a long action years ago the CIL 950 made by savage was a long action single shot, and will take the rifle basix target trigger, however since you've already got the large shank barrel this may not be an optimum option for you.
What cartridge are you running that your sold on a long action? I run a 284 in a short action, can eject fired cases but have to pull the bolt out to remove a loaded round from the rifle

6.5 284 thought it would need a long action by the way I own a cil 950 in 308 and would love to find another if the price is right I suppose the barrel could be buzzed down to the small shank dimension. The big problem with the cil is that if you got one and shot it the idea of tearing it down for its organs would go away with about the 5 shot.

I'm thinking you are looking for an action from the 70's - Savage Model 112V. I had one - long action, no magazine slot, 26" heavy barrel, might even have been a bull barrel. Mine was in 22-250, so it would have had a 308 /30-06 family bolt face. No clue about the barrel shank size, though - I never had the barrel off the action.

Yodave if I'm stuck with a short action or long action repeater what model actions should I look for that will fit the large shank with a 308 bolt face

the single shot target actions and the repeaters that were originally chambered in the WSM cartridges are both large shank action, a weather warrior model 16 270 WSM would be a good donor action if you wanted a repeater, Ellwood epps has the single shot target actions in stock, all you'll need is a stock that matches the action screw locations
