Looking at the savage 12 LRPV and the f class and wondering which twist rate is the best for the 6 br 1:8 or 1:12. And also the main difference between the two rifles other than the stocks and the price? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

With a 1-8 you can shoot pretty much all the VLDs. With the 1-12 mabey a 90gr Berger if the throat is not to long. I shoot a 1-12 in a 6mm Remington and it will not spin 105s 115s 95 VLDs. A 1-12 will shoot other 95s and 100s but probably not in the VLD type. Unless you shoot them extremly fast from the slow twist. How fast I do not know. 1-12 will be good for the Flat Base bullets and the 1-8 for the Boattail VLDs.

12 twist if this is a varminter. 8 twist if you also plan on shooting LR.

Port/bolt configuration will also be different.

Otherwise, the parts are really similar so pick the stock style that fits your needs.
