Guys I have been a long time Remington fan I shoot a couple older Remington with the early 90's type triggers and I love them. Well I decided to change things up and bought a Savage LRP in 6.5 creedmoor well I like the gun a lot hunted with it this year at long range took my deer at 320 yds gun and cal did great. But I don't think I can move forward with the gun with the trigger, I just can't get used to it. I asked around and just wondering what you Savage owner are using for a trigger if you feel the same as me. If you could let me know what trigger/model you find the best and why.
As always you guys are the best for info. Thanks

I went with the Rifle Basix SAV-2 trigger for my .204 Ruger Varmint rifle, (about 10 years ago) sadly it was sold.

Like you, I could not get used to the little blade on the Accutrigger. While it was head and shoulders better than any other factory trigger at the time I just never got used to it.

My current Savage project rifle has a Sharp Shooter Supply "Competition" trigger. While I don't have both rifles to compare side by side, (and my memories of the rifle with the SAV-2 are 5 years old) I still would give the nod to the Rifle Basix SAV-2.

pull the center blade out and try it again, if still no love for it then upgrade to a rifle basix or timney trigger, my preference is the basix

I have a Rifle basix SAV-2 in my savage model 12 FTR and, in my opinion, it's ok. It will adjust very low but any lower than 1.5 lbs and it will not pass safety tests so adjust at your own caution. Another point, may be I just got a bad one, but my pull is not very consistent and has a bit tiny bit if creep.

For what I paid for it I would love to say that it's a fantastic trigger but my experience has been that it's mediocre at best.
I say this because I've had some time behind a jewel, CG and Huber in the past to compare to. I also recently just picked up a TRG which has an incredible trigger.
I really wish someone would make a decent trigger for a Savage.

I've used the rifle basix sav1, sav2, and SSS trigger. Out of all of them I like the sav2 best. I really don't like the accutrigger at all.

The center blade serves a safety purpose, so think twice about pulling it out.

That blade prevents firing of the gun if the trigger mechanism is jolted such that the sear is inadvertently released by the trigger. Also, it's possible to have stock fitment issues that make the trigger mechanism release on closing the bolt, except again the blade prevents actual firing of the gun.
