I bought a Mako .22 today and Ive read that they take the exact same mag as the MKII. Can anyone confirm this and if so, where is a good place to buy some for cheap?

I have bought 5 different Mark II mags for my Mako, the Mako is just a Mark II in a fancy stock. How do you like it? I have been shooting mine all summer, just came home from firing a couple of hundred rounds. Mine shot really well out of the box, but I have bedded it and I can't help but think it shoots even better. My rifle loves CCI standard velocity and sub sonics, and you can't beat Winchester bulk Dynapoint for practicing. I have shot a few 30m groups with it that rivals some of my more expensive ammo. I am pretty sure you can get mags at Wholesale, and Russell sports both have them for between 22-$24. I prefer the 5 rounders over the 10's. Enjoy your rifle!

took the new Mako to the range and I was impressed.

At 25 yards it was bug holes. At 50 it was opening up to a quater coin in size. At 75 the wind started to affect things and it went to about an inch to two inches. This was all with the Federal bulk pack ammo.

I also found some spare mags. 10 shot mags for $21 each in Regina.

The plan now is to find a whole bunch of different types of ammo and do some testing. I think Ill stick with the cheap stuff for gophers because the results were more than acceptable but Id like to see what this will really do.

more help please.

So I had to give back the scope that I had on the Mako since it was my friends and I was visiting. I got back home to mount it spare scope and the front objective is to big to fit. I have the tall rings and it still won't fit. The other scope was a 30mm and this other one I'm trying to mount is a Tasco 42mm objective.

Any suggestions? Are there taller rings yet or can I get a taller base than the one mounted from the factory?

Thanks in advance.

I have tall Burris rings on mine and have almost 1/16" clearance with my 42mm scope. I am considering the EGW mount, with it I would be able to mount any scope I want, as I have Burris rings in all different heights to put the scope where I want it. Try Winchester Dynapoint bulkammo, (at 25-50m) you'll be pleased. I have also gotten excellent results with CCI standard and subsonic ammo.

Thanks.

I think I'll look for a taller base first because the rings are lapped for this scope that I want to use and I don't want to break up the set. If all else fails, then I'll have to get new rings and start the whole matching process over.

I'll try the Dynapoints. Thanks again.
