good evening

i bought a markII bv a few months ago. i have no complaints with accuracy, but when i am shooting it i can hear the trigger mechanism creaking and moving before it fires. i find this annoying enough to not want to shoot the gun. my first rifle is a browning bbr in 7mm rem mag and is a pleasure to shoot and handle, the savage seems like a cheap pos to me. what can if anything can i do to remedy this? or should i just buy a cz:D

thanks

Pull the stock off and retighten whatever screws or bolts that are there, lube lightly, reset the stock and be sure those screws are tight. Sounds like a loose trigger group.

loose trigger group, i'll give that a try, this was a problem from the get go and was new in box when i purchased it.

thanks

I got my markII BV before the accuTrigger came out in the rimfires, and it had a crummy trigger. I friend of mine bought the same gun a short time later and installed a rifle basix sear, then shot a 232 (don't remember how many X's) at the 2nd 50/50 shoot he ever participated in. I ordered my rifle basix sear the next day and it is like night and day. Takes a bit of adjusting to get it just right, but you can adjust the pull weight quite low and eliminate creep and take-up altogether. One thing I did hear from other people that installed it was to test it carefully if you adjusted the weight very low, as it is possible to set the trigger off if you bump the rifle hard or even if you move the safety. I did not have this problem personally, but always pays to be cautious :p

If you bought this new recently I would assume you have the Accutrigger, but I see on their site that rifle basix has a new version meant to replace that as well (but you lose the safety feature of the accutrigger). Anyway, thought I would give this as another option, I love the accutrigger on my model 12 but it is not as good on my friends mark II.
