Savage Mark II scope mount? where can I get one

Hello everyone. Just got a Savage mark II and want to attache a scope on it. But I cant seem to find a scope mount in Canada..Anyone have any tips on which one to get? This is my first time buying and attaching a scope on a firearm so I have no idea where to start. Thanx guys

Is the Savage Mark II the grooved receiver or the drilled and tapped??

although I just took my mount off my woodsmaster 742 30-06 and it looks like it actually might fit but ill check n see.

On my Savage M-II BSVE, same receiver as yours, I used Burris bases and Leupold high rings.
I didn't keep the packaging, so I can't give you numbers
I mounted a Mueller Eraticator, 8-25X50

I went with an EGW base on mine. You can get them from sinclairs.

Try direct from Savage or one of their retailers. I'm looking at buying the fv-sr which has a scope mount already installed. Maybe check it out and see if it will work for you.

It should take the Weaver #16 bases then. There are none of these in Canada then order direct from Weaver!

This is my Mark II F - .22LR - I bought those bases from LeBaron. They are Savage Arms bases serial # 12207. I would think the receiver drilled holes are the same on all the Mark II's, but I can't say that for certain.

Those rings are medium height, and that scope is 32mm. If you have open sights on your model, and you're looking to use a bigger diameter, go with a high ring, coz with the medium, the 32mm only just clears the top of the rear sight on the barrel, unless you want to take the rear site off. But, it is dovetailed right into the barrel, so personally I wouldn't want to try it....

Thats is a legend 4.5-14 x 44 with a low mount.

Where did you get the DIP rails?

DIP is has lots of great stuff. I just replaced the flimsy factory BM with a DIP 1/8" thick one. They don't ship to Canada so you would have to ship to a US address and pick it up or have a buddy forward it.
