Just curious to see if anyone has got the Savage Mark II TR or TRR models. I'm looking to get back into shooting .22LR and thought this is quite a nice looking rifle.
Any personal experience with this rifle would be great.

I've got a TR that is topped with a Bushnell Elite 4200 8-32x40 and I simply love the thing. Haven't had a single issue with it at all and its proven to be pretty accurate so far which is a nice bonus. But I cannot wait to see how it'll group when I finally try the high end ammo.

That's great to hear. I'm really looking for something that wont brake the bank but will be a great little rifle.

What's the Canadian price of the TR?

I have been seeing prices of anywhere from $410-450cdn. Quite reasonable really.

I have the 93R17 TRR, not the Mark II (so... .17HMR, not .22). I really like it. Fit is good. Action is great. Accuracy is outstanding.

Same reasoning here. I was originally looking at an Anschutz but didn't feel like dropping $1000. So I settled on the Savage which I got from Ellwood Epps for $411.xx + Taxes.

Oddly enough, my scope costs quite a bit more then the rifle but I figured this way I'd never need another one vs getting a cheapo off the start.

I haven't spent much time past 50 yards as I do not have a proper bench rest or even a rear bag for that matter. But at 25 yards it'll shoot .250'' using Blazer or AE and @ 50 yards it'll do .500'' again with Blazer or AE. Best I've managed @ 100 yards borrowing a follow members rear bag was 1.375'' but I can't remember if it was with Blazer or the AE.

Shoot it freehand is a PITA though! Mostly due to the large scope but meh.

The MkII is a great .22 gun. Mine (the MkII FV, not TR) shoots better than I do, as the saying goes.

That being said, my only issue is with the stock. I got synthetic, and I think it feels too cheap and 'plasticky', if that makes sense. Secondly, I find the LOP too short, so get your hands on one, and measure it up before you buy.

I handled laminate stocked .17 at my range, and it was much nicer. You might want to try the BRJ/BTVS stocks unless you're dead-set on the TR models.

Love mine

I have the MkII TR and absolutely love it. With a decent scope it's a tack driver at 100yds and can get very respectable groups at 200yds.

It was my first rifle and i don't think I will ever part with it :D
