I got mine from Boyds, and I think they're just dandy. Not "crap". Light years better than the plastic you have now.
You get your choice of matt black or nickel for under 30$. That's the trigger guard and bottom plate c/w screws.
I chose the nickel/silver just to match my Uncle Mike's swivels, but I might just order a black set to match my spare black swivels :^ ]
Drop in installation works good.
Sure, I could fab them, but time is money to me, so it was cheaper to just order them.
