savage mk 11 fte problems

Hi all
I have a savage mk 11 that has ejection problems it use to be 1 out of 10 now its pretty much every time. is there any thing i could do my self or am i going to have to have it in to get fixed

Not sure how old your gun is? I also have one, but its an early 70`s model. I took the bolt out, drove the pins out that hold the ejection arms and filed them flat again. Worked like a charm. I know there is a place in Edmonton that sells the arms new, but at $25 a piece x 2.....that was the cost of the gun back then.
 
I had lots of problems with stingers but everything else shot fine, the chamber had to be VERY clean for the stingers to eject.
 
On top of what everyone said about cleaning, pay particular attention to cleaning extractor under and around the claws, as well as the bolt face where the cartridge rim sits. If you can remove the extractor from the bolt, even better to clean both bolt and extractor.

And this is how I really solved my non-extraction problem....clean the chamber face and the two recesses on the left and right side of the chamber where the extractor claws go into. Use powder/lead solvent and a dental pick or similar sharp pointed tool to clean the recesses.
