savage Mk 2 .22LR build

im looking for a left handed mk 2 .22lr so i can practice my shooting and get better overall. i have a ton of .22lr ammo i have been stockpiling over the past couple of months. my budget for the gun would be 200-300 ( before scope)$.. any recommendations? i would prefer for it to be as accurate as possible. Does anyone know which dealers/ stores/online sell them?

Given your budget you'll be looking at the GL model. Which has worked well for me.

Just please, don't stockpile any more until you actually start using what you have. Most people are having a hard enough time finding 22 ammo.

SFRC is selling 555 rd boxes for 30 $.. SAIL in ontario has a decent amount of CCI 1075 fps stuff
actually i see you are in london, bulls eye mentioned not too long ago they should be getting some .22 in soon. And i have been using it at my handgun club shooting .22 pistols

are there any good aftermarket stocks for this gun that will allow the mounting of a bipod?

Prairie Gun Traders in Avonlea, SK shows a Mark II GL on their site for $239. That's where I bought mine from, same rifle. Great guys to deal with and they shouldn't have a problem shipping.

im happy i put out the extra money on it over the base models.
the extra money gets ya the heavy barrel plus the nice thumb stock and of course stainless.

thats a beauty! unfortunately im on a budget. I picked up the left handed G model ( base wood stock, blued regular barrel) for 250 after taxes today!. gonna take it shooting tomorrow see how it runs. i will get a nice 3x9 scope next weekend and a decent sling ( bipod optional)
