The Savage MKii are made in Lakefield Ontario.

I called to ask them questions last year about a Cooey 64 that I was fixing up that I was able to convert to the newer Savage magazine.
The lady put me through to "one of the guys in the shop." He was was very helpful.

I would try calling again, I've only had one issue with my savage rifles, and they were very willing to help me asap, sent me parts and expedited shipping, completely free, I was impressed

Contact Savage through Facebook. I did regarding a stock issue and it was fixed very quickly with a replacement stock sent out for my Mk 2.

Different user, different review. I bought a mk2 fvsr last years, tried different ammo , some of them would not eject at all, but when i tried the cci standard, 0 malfunction and pretty good accuracy. I have shot maybe 2000-3000 rounds with it since without any problem at all. Best rifle for the price range in my opinion.

Perhaps they've declined in the last couple of years but two of my brother in laws and I have BTVS's and they are all up there in reliability and accuracy. Perhaps a slight step down from a CZ but will worth the money if you can find one for under $450.

Out of the dozen or so 22's I have, the Savages are the least picky with ammo and definitely tend to shoot cheap ammo better than most other guns. They also perform great with expensive ammo.

Absolutely best rifle for the price range. Mine has had ejection problems. Called savage, they sent me 2 new ejectors/extractors/springs when I asked. The CCI lube gummed mine up after 100 rounds before the new parts. I don’t like the tiny stock on the FVSR, or the floppy mag, but $330. I think the Ruger Precision Rimfire is the best value for $$ if you want a chassis.

Mine is a pre savage lakefield model. It has failure to fire issues now, but that may have something to do the tens of thousands of rounds I put through it.....

I have had the best Support from Savage. Turned around my 22 mag in 5 days. I was amazed. But I started with dropping it off at my local store that is a Canadian service depot. ( Grech Outdoors)

After the new parts I’ve been through 300 rounds without any issues.

Rimfire, you deal with Lakefield/Savage in Ontario. Centrefire, you deal with Savage in the US.

Both are extremely helpful; and for warranty related stuff they're very good about sending parts out to get you back in action.
