recently my Mk II G barrel exterior was soaked (carboy leaked during camping trip transport) and has rusted and pitted badly on the exterior. now, the barrel is still fully functional, but it made me think about where I can look for a replacement barrel...maybe a bull barrel option. sand out the stock, properly free float and see what happens then. are there third party options or replacement options via Savage themselves?

unless you have some sort of sentimental attachment, I'd just buy a new Savage. Unless you rebarrel it yourself, I suspect you might spend more on a rebarrel than what a new one would cost. Then you could relegate the pitted rifle as your dedicated truck/canoe rifle and not worry about the same thing happening again.

The Savage rimfires are made right here in Ontario, I'm not sure if you could order another barrel, but two weeks ago I ordered a TR stock for my FV $175.
You can give them a call and see what they can do for you.
