I was taking apart my savage to lighten up the trigger and noticed that there was a dovetail about 3/8 wide toward the from of the action on the bottom. There is also a corresponding cutout in the stock... Any ideas what this may be for? I'm thinking some sort of unused bedding technique to put pressure on the barrell.
