Replaced the stock with one from a BV model, And mounted a 3-12x40 Hawke Varmint SF on a EGW 20 MOA base for the long range stuff.

Here's my FV-SR in a TR stock with Bushnell 4200 6-24x40 in Weaver rings. Redone trigger with replaced springs, polished, shimmed, 1.5# and almost no creep. Homemade overtravel screw in trigger guard. It is a real shooter and just seems to be getting better with each box through it. I have been baiting wasps and hornets at 30yds and I have killed over 200 in the last couple of weeks. I love being able to shoot in the backyard.

Wow...nice!

I'm curious though...did yours come that way, or did you mix 'n match? I'm asking because I don't recall seeing the stainless receiver/barrel combo in the Boyds Tacticool stock...and recently I heard that stock is verbotten from export?!?

(as if the Taliban are buying stocks for rimfires LOL!!!)

So is this a new model/product/offering? Or did you mail order the Boyds before it got banned from export from the USA? Something else?

No it started out as a MKII BSEV with the Evolution stock . I accually picked the tacticool stock up off the EE .
 
Where are the Savages? Been on the lookout for a FV-SR for months now and nobody has it. Seems most models are OoS. Cabelas.ca has a few but S/H kills it for me.
 
I got my mk2 bv on the EE. I was considering a tacticool stock but the one I have right now is free floated anyway. I'd have to shoot one with a tacticool stock to see if it'd be any different.

It started as a Savage MKII FV-SR, added a Boyd's evo stock, a Ross Schuler muzzle brake and Leupold FX-3 12X40mm scope.
