Savage MKII Pictures thread

Here's my Mk II G with a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 scope (good enough for 50yds offhand, which is most of my shooting with it). Replaced the water-damaged stock with an Evo. Had to grind down the stock screws to fit.

this is my Savage MkII Lrt. I made the stock out of fiberglass, with machined buttplate, the action is bedded with devcon and I tapered the recoil lug and tap treads into it to add a third bolt to hold the stock to the action. the barrel is polish and reblued. trigger job done.
I have a 20 moa base and a Weaver t-34 on top.:D

ya im in the same boat as you.
that is the one area ive been penny pinching, i think its high time i started dumping more cash into glass.

Wow...that's some great results!

How long did it take you to make? And did you find a book or website explaining how to make it?

PS: love your avatar! Haven't seen that sign in 20 years, forgot what it looked like! For those that don't know, that's the German's sign for the Autobahn, which used to be unlimited speed...dunno if it still is in parts, but I hear there's many areas now with more "Canadian like" speed limits.

the making was way to long ,two full weekend and more..., I won't do anything in fiberglass anymore..... it was pretty cool to squeese the fresh resin on the pistol grip to have it "carved" to my hand tought!!

for the recoil lug I've seen that on a rimfire forum, it give a sturdy third pillar for bedding the stock

Received this as an early xmas gift, really like it so far. This shooting was a one off deal just for fun. Was zero degrees C with a slight left to right wind which I judged by looking at smoke from the chimney. This rifle has potential!

Here is a couple pics of my FV SR
