Savage ML - load testing with IMR

A friend asked me to post this for him, He is wondering if anyone here has done some test loads with IMR 4759 & 4227 powder with Hornady SST 250gr bullets?

I know every gun is different, but he is looking for a quick starting point that could save him time & money with his 2 Savage ML rifle. He's looking for a good tight group.

43-44 grains of 4759 and the 250. 42 grains with the 300 which is what I use now.

The best thing to do with the 4227 is forget all about it. Its famous for misfires and pouff loads. Also, take the supplied sabots and throw those away too. Short black MMPs are the fast track to happiness with a Savage. Also, you can drive yourself crazy with a Savage if you get it warm while testing.
