I just had a guy here that wanted to trade his 30-30/12ga over/under. It is a synthetic stock & very good shape. bores are like new. Is there any demand for thid combo? If it was 22/410 or 222/20 no prob. but I am not sure on this. Thanks for your views & any $$ ideas. :confused:AJ

I think the more uncommon the combination the higher of a premium it brings. I've been passing on fair priced 22/410's for a few years now hoping a 357 mag or a 357 maximum might fall onto my doorstep someday but today wasn't the day, maybe tomorrow.

I see the 30-30's sell at around $500 at most of the dealers shops but they're dealers and gotta make a profit above what they paid for it so anywhere around $400 for it on a private sale would be pretty good. I can remember only a few years ago you could grab up a 24 in 22/410 for $200, not anymore, seems like a combo frenzy occurred.

I've always wanted a 30-30/12 guage combo. You never know when you'll find a deer with a duck on it's head :)

Seriously - what a great truck gun. You're literally ready for just about anything except big bears with that in the truck, from grouse and rabbits to yotes and deer and even moose.

That's what makes that particular combo desirable.

Provided the poor QC at the Sav plant actually regulated the barrels to hit even remotely close. It's a common complaint with modern 24's.I have an older .22/.410 that is perfectly regulated and I can shoot beer caps or skeet with it.Only problem is my 16 year old son has laid claim to it..........Had a 30-30/20ga that didn't hit within a yard with the shotgun barrel.Garbage gone.....................Harold

LMAO

i dunno, .30-30/12 seems pretty mediocre.

also ive had nothing but problems with centerfire extraction on the 24Fs that ive owned - IMO the extractor is sadly underengineered. the ones ive examined on gun show tables, many also had telltale marks of prying under the extractor with an SAK or screwdriver to remove stuck cases, so i dont think im the only one with this problem.
