well some will say backwards some forward: I will try it and if it shoot as I expect I will sell the rem700 and tac21 or just the tac21 and make a short barrel rem 700 as a back up hunting rifle:

Right now I have to get the action trued, tactical bolt knob, new barrel to shoot heavier bullet. If the savageshoot good all I need is a 20 moa rail! and further down the line a bether stock

My post wasn't a Rem vs. Savage debate. I would have said the same thing if you'd owned a Savage with the TAC 21 chassis. My point is that the Rem will do everything the Savage will and you already own it and have a far superior stock compared to the factory one on the Savage.

Why do you believe that your Rem isn't capable of firing heavier bullets? What weight do you want to shoot? What twist rate do you have? Why do you think it needs to have the action trued? The Savage's action won't be trued either so I don't see where you think you're getting ahead? Is the accuracy of the Rem not accurate enough for you? Are you experienced enough to say that your equipment is a limiting factor in your development as a shooter?

At the end of the day if you just want another rifle, I can't say as I blame you there. You never need an excuse for that! :) However, don't base your decisions on assumptions based on what you've read on the net or elsewhere that you haven't already verified yourself.

Tac 21 is way too long for me at 5f2, having the bolt space to move plus buffer tube is bad ergonomics for me. The issue is not the tac21 or the gun, it's me (or might be the ammo I had last time hornady superformance 150gr/ I have to try my load in it yet).

So I don't like the ergonomics of it. I do believe that the reason why my grouping opened up since I bought the chassis (was shooting moa/ sub moa at 100 whit the previous stock on good day 3 round grouping). As for heavier bullet, the 700 barrel is a 1in12, technically should stop at 175gr. So yhea at the moment I am completely rethinking the 700 project due the fact that I can't group it any more. I wasn't sure what I would be doing but... here is the answer.

Shooting I would say my experience is a little bit less then average compared to what I see on CGN: about 13 year on my own and with the forces also include rifle team match.

And at that price it’s coming home whit me! Ho and I have been looking in to savage 10 for a while...

Savage Model 10TR, 308 WIN, 24" Barrel, Military/LE Promo Only $599.00

This has been asked already; but, I didn't see a reply yet. How long is this promotion? I definitely want to get one, but I need a little time to save up. I don't mind if I have to wait a little longer for it, just don't want to miss out on the promotion.

As in the review I posted earlier the savage seems to like projectiles around 168 gr with not great results at 150gr and opening up again at 180,,ymmv, but this guy seemed to do Quite a good job of testing as far as it went. At 100 and 200 yards the fed gold match 168 came in first and very tight! Might work for your remmy too!

Also curious about the timeframe, would love to hear back.

Good to see someone in the east coast order one,, maybe I will get to see it at the range some day if I can't source one myself,, great deal! Reading blogs in the U.S. they say these are discontinued, not sure, might just be blather but if I could order one I would do it quick,,just in case! Trust me, if someone gets a 10tr and discovers they don't want it,, the EE will EEat it up! ;0)

They will take a 10 round mag from Dark Eagle Custom without mod. Another dealer here on CGN has the mags in stock, or did before the frenzy for these guns started.

Here it is.

They aren't discontinued, they are a limited run. I think there are 500 rifles being offered but I could be wrong.
