Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision in 260 Rem

I'm sure the LRPV in 260 will shoot well. No reason for it not to. Here are three consecutive targets out of my LRPV 6BR with 12 twist at 100 meters. Three shot groups, bullets jammed 0.010" into lands.

That sure does look sweet, doesn't it? Thanks for the photo, it definitely provides a little perspective as to the actual dimensions of the rifle. The
ejection port doesn't look all that small, does it? Thanks again.:)

For anyone interested, as of two days ago Elwood Epps had four (4) Model 12 LRP's in 260 Rem on order (two of which are already spoken for), with an ETA
of the first week in June and a price tag of $921.70. So if you're interested I'd give Epp's a call PDQ. I did so myself, two days ago:D.

i want one in creedmoor, i don't reload, so echoing the ops post, seems like a bargain 1000yrd start and the 6.5cm the better choice for the factory ammo shooter of the offerings available? three of the four hornady loads would work for me and hunting too and i'd guess that gun will drill at least one of them if not all of them plenty tight enough

did they say if they ordered any of the other cartridge choices?

I heard late June is when I should be seeing mine, hopefully that is true!

Not to sound like a #### or anything but I never thought I would see the day when you bought a Savage. For some reason I always thought you were a Remington only kind of guy. It does sound like an interesting rifle/cartridge.

this is one of the few Savage rifle offerings that ever made me stop and pay attention. When Remington makes a factory rifle that has a HS Precision stock, 6oz trigger, fluted barrel and detach mag for under $1000 in a 8 twist 260 Remington I will probably buy one and try it out

I still can't figure out why Savage would give the 6.5's an 8 twist and then give the poor 243 a 9.25 twist??? Why is Savage hating on the little 6mm?

I thought it a bit weird too with TB going for the Savage, but I think the 260 chambering trumped the brand name for him! Plus a guy gets a little tired eating pizza every night! ;)

I ordered one from The Shooting Edge in Calgary about one month ago.Price is $1194.00 and should(hopefully)be here late Sept. early Oct.I had the same thought about an out of the box rifle to get into long range shooting and after a lot of research I decided on this model and caliber. Now to save up for all the other gear!
