Does anyone on the forum have experience with the Palma? I am new to target shooting and was wondering if this I a good model to start out with? Looking to shoot 100-1000 yards. 600 being the average. Pros and cons? Do precision rifles come left handed? I want the rifle to eject right, but if there is a cheek cushion I'd need it to fit a left shooter?

Two fellow shooters bought the palma's last year had to remove barrels and put on customs and removed the nut, the factory barrels could not do better than .700" groups with Lapua brass and Match bullets and Redding Competition dies
They now shoot in the .200s

OMG! Say it ain't so, Joe! Why...why...why...That's no better than a Stevens 350! :p

It's pretty good for a factory target rifle.

The "model 12 Palma" is one of Savage's more expensive target rifles; a lot of the extra cost is due to its stock having many adjustments available, which is very useful for iron sight shooting with a sling and jacket.

If you are going to shoot it with a scope and a rest, another one of their models might be cheaper for you to get.
