Wow
It finally came to my favorite gunshop P&D in Edmonton. Real nice piece of Walnut on a blued action. Hopefully it shoots as nice as it looks. Gonna be my old age deer rifle. Want to see if the 80gr Barnes can get travelling fast enough to be a good combo in the 250. FS

That will be a nice outfit with a good scope on it. What are the plans for that?

The 250-3000 is a much underrated cartridge. While it is n ot ideal, several old timers up here use it for everything, including bears. It should really perform with a tough bullet.

I took my first deer when I was 11yrs old with that cartridge. It was in a Ruger MkII Ultralite. I have no idea what bullet it was shooting. Something my dad loaded up.

The shot was about 100 yards or so. One shot and the Muley Doe went down hard.

Dad still has that rifle. I'm planning to get my daughter to use it for her first deer in a few years.

Probably my favourite cartridge. I have a 99 in. 250, and I also put a Shilen prefit barrel on my 116 stainless before Savage started offering the.250 as a factory chambering again. Properly loaded, it will do just about anything. I'm afraid to let my wife shoot it; she liked my AR so much that she claimed it.
