Savage model 1914 take down

No it wasn't, not in any of the old catalogs anyways.

A Lyman SM or a Marbles S2 would be the correct tang sight for it though.

Here's a Marbles S2S that is actually stamped 1914 after the S2S on the bottom for that model specifically and a Lyman SM with a Marbles S2 on it's right.

I can see mine is a Lyman but can't see its #, have to get a magnifying glass to see with my eyes..lol
When I find out the # will let you know, also think this one is missing the round disc part.

Depends, might be a 1A variation which would have had the flip down aperture built into the stem.

The designation code will be stamped on the very bottom, you would have to take it off to see it. Some of the Marlin tang sights were put on Savages because they had the same hole spacing but they were to high for the Savages.

I used my camera to zoom in, could read the pat.date but there was no other pre fix that I could find. Even underneath But with your info and some searching it seems to be yes a No.1A third variation tang sight. I'm working on getting pictures to upload to show but it's a work in progress on my end..
