Savage model 1917

The problem with any of the turn-of-the-century Savage pistols is that they're "prohibited" in Canada. If you have the license for them, they're still kind of hard to find. With the "prohibited" status there just isn't much of a market in Canada. They're quite common in the U.S. Over the years (I lived in the U.S.) I've owned three of them. They're really neat guns. Ten rounds in the magazine (the first high-cap mags), more complicated than it needs to be, and beautifully made. Portugal used them as a military arm, the French used them in WW I. They came in .32, .380 and (rarely) .25. That makes them unownable by those of us with "restricted" licenses. If you have one in the family, keep it.
