Savage model 340

Have a friend offered me a model 340 in 222 rem its in good shape no scope wants $100 what are your thoughts?
Not the prettiest rifle but in good shape.

Thanx , I didn't really need that big of a push bought it but missed on an old marlin 22 semi auto he had . may still have a chance at the marlin it is a clip model didn't get to handle it but definitely old I haven't seen one like it before but didn't get the model #

If it checks out OK, grab it.
The local gun shows are more in the $200 ++ range for 340's.
Have one in 30-30 and love it.
Spare mags can be hard to find.

In serviceable condition a Savage 340 (also sold as the Stevens 325 and as a CIL version) is a very good deal for $100, if only because you can sell it on for at least $200 and your buyer will be doing well.

I had one in 22 hornet and it was a good little rifle. $100 is a great deal, I think I paid $350 for mine.
