Did you just add this sight? Cause going to a peep sight usually requires a taller front sight to properly sight in.
I have the same sight and I does the same thing. Wierd
It has the williams front sight as well, that I had added.
Is the front sight taller than the original?(it needs to be)
Or is the issue just with the rear sight not adjusting to it's full potential?
I wouldn't call it a dumb idea, aftermarket peep sights are usually preferable to factory irons. Working the bugs out now, and when it's functional, should be fun.

Just tried it it will never go that far down because the sight bottoms out on the base looks like the scale is'nt stamped in the right place shouldn't affect the functionality though. Like others have said you probably need a taller front sight.
Well it's on there now. $96 to get there. Maybe I can make it work with your help.![]()
Well, the simplest way I know, considering I don't know anything about the model of the peep sight, is to simply find a taller front sight.
I'd adjust the rear to the middle, and fire some shots @ whatever distance you're shooting at.
Measure high many inches high it is.
Go here: http://www.brownells.com/userdocs/Miscellaneous/sightCorrection_F2.swf and enter the values, remember to put inches in the distance to target, not yards.
That'll tell you how much taller your front sight needs to be, add that to your current front sight height.
Go shopping with that information in hand.
I was considering using "peep sights" on my Mark II, but decided against it, after trying out a 30/30 with peep sights, my eyes are just too old. However I did find a manufacturer of sights that looked good to me. They are called Skinner Sights and are in Montana. I never actually contacted them, but I bet they could set you up with what you need.
