What price? Full length barrel and matching numbers increase value.
Those aren't rare at all, there were thousands of them made by Savage for the Canadian and British armies (along with other Commonwealth nations) during WWII as part of Lend-Lease.
My father has mine in his gun cabinet back home, it's a sportered '42, all matching, and with the bayonet lugs still on the barrel. IIRC he paid 24.95 for it, and that included the bayonet, a soft case, and a box of Imperial hunting ammo (of course, this was back in the late 60's
)

No stars are worth buying if the price is right.
Not a lot of them made befor changing to mk1*. Have never been able to find anything but a guess. I have a Savage Mk1 receiver but that is all.
I also have a Long Branch Mk1 receiver but somebody ground off part of the #s

I have a 5C###x example myself.
and going off the above post 130,000 would indicate that approximately 10% of savages should be the MkI pattern.
