Savage no4 mk1 value

Hi all,
I'm wondering what a fair price would be for a Savage built no4mk1 LE.
I have been offered to buy one and would like to know approx. Value.

it is in original full wood, original sling and numbers matching (including mag). not sure if it is a FTR rifle or all factory. Where can you look to see?

If it is issued and in good shape I would say whitey07 is right 500-700 give-or-take. Unissued Savages command a little more if theyre in mint shape 800-1200.

Most of us Canucks prefer Long Branch Enfields...Savage is definitely down the list of preferences. Keep that in mind when you decide what to pay.

Savage made no4 mk1s at the start of there production, it makes a difference in value

nope they started making No4MkI and then switched to the MkI* I think the change over was somewhere around the 5C###x range

LongBranch also started making the MkI and switched to the MkI*.

Most Savage No4's are the MkI* or FTR to MkI/3 same with LongBranch so finding a MkI is a little harder and would give the seller a little leverage on asking price.


as for which is better, well there really is not mutch of a difference but there is the advantage of the MkI bolt release is that you don't have to worry about chipped bolt ways.

MkI* has slightly different inletting on the forestock so a MkI* stock will not fit a MkI
