Hey whats up guys...I have an FV-SR and I finally decided to upgrade my stock to the Boyds stock. So I ordered the stock and then proceded to order the parts from savage and they instructed me that as of a week ago they are not shipping to Canada...its a decision they have made obviously fairly recently and they are not sure if they are going to revert it.

My problem is where the hell do I get these parts not (ie screws, magazine plate, trigger guard etc.)

Thanks

Which stock do you mean? I believe the Boyd's Tacticool has always been barred from Canada because of the name and ITAR export restrictions...
How do you figure no parts get sent from Savage, and it's not just the stock that's the issue?...

(I thought the Mk Is and IIs were made in Canada, even...)

Well, when I first started reading your post...I wondered if you were trying to order a Black "Tacticool" stock. The US has decided that flat-black-painted chunk of plywood is a threat to their national security, so Boyd's can't ship them here now. I have to wonder why Boyd's won't change the name to "Black Canadian Stock" and be in the clear. :) I've never heard that you can't order, but I've never paid any attention to where the parts come from. Can you order them from Savage, but within Canada? (rimfires are made here!) Plan B~contact a Savage authorized service shop like Grech Outdoors in Mount Forest. He probably has everything you need.

ok mayybe u guys mis understood what i was saying...THE stock is fine i ordered that withouth problems.....I mean when i called savage to get the additional parts (trigger guard, bottom plate etc) they said there going through some permit changes and are not shipping to canada right now.

ITs savage thats the problem not boyd.

I called Grech and even they are not getting in Parts from Savage USA right now...They said they would check there inventory and get back to me...but John said he wasnt sure if he had them in stock

that seems strange considering the 22's are MADE in canada.
so they are making them here, sending them to the states and now they dont wanna send the parts back up?

that dosnt sound right.

are you able to contact savage canada directly?

You could try ordering the parts from Boyd's.Might pay an arm and a leg for shipping though.

Some CGN members may be aware of this, but I thought I'd post on here to explain what's up with Savage and the shipping of parts and guns.
Savage Arms was recently purchased by ATK, a very large 'player' in the gun industry.

Not long ago I had requested a stock for a Savage action/barrel from a good friend that works at Savage. He informed me that I would have to wait several weeks, as ATK put a hold on deliveries/shipments as they transition assets, acounting systems, etc.

Last time I checked, my stock should ship in the next week or two. After that, all parts ordering, etc. will return to normal.
