Just curious about the scopes on savage package guns.

(the basic 3-9x40)

Seems there were 3 different ones recently

simmons blazer- (the one with the red stripe, and bigger eyepeice)

simmons 8point

bushnell something

my question is, are the simmons and bushnell the same scope? they do look pretty similar

and which one is the best? (i know they arent the greatest at all, but to put on a rimfire)

A lot of scopes look similar. Different brands/models may be made in the same factories in China using the same tubes, with glass and coatings and some internals of different quality depending on how much the buyer (Bushnell, Tasco, Simmons, etc.) is willing to pay.

If it has a fixed parallax setting a scope intended for a big game rifle may be inappropriate for your application on a rimfire.

The 3-9X40 looks like the Bushnell Banner and apparently model # 71-3944 has parallax set to 50 yards. I've been trying to find out for sure because I want to get one for my .22 .

I've e-mailed Bushnell about it and am awaiting a reply.

There was a guy on here selling a couple of take-offs.
I think...
I bought the FVXP package. Came with the Bushnell. It's a $50 scope on a $250 gun.
Works for me. I can't see spending any more money for this particular gun.

Confirmed, Bushnell Banner model # 71-3944 has a 50 yard parallax.

Got my email from Bushnell today,
Hi, I have a quick question for you.

What is the parallax setting of the Bushnell Banner model# 71-3944? Is it 50 yards or 100 yards?

I'm looking for a variable power scope for my .22 and this one seems to fit the bill, but for my shooting I require it to be around 50.

Reply: That scope would have a 50 yard parallax. I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful day.

Savage doesn't seem to want to receive email requests at this time due to high volume and asks you call them. Since they're in the states I don't feel like the bill (since I might be on hold for a bit).

I suggest the OP call them at one of these numbers to find out about the package guns:
