Just wondering whats all availible/reccomended for savage pre fit bbls in canada? I have a 10fp le2b(mcmillan stock) had this rifle for a few years now, it shoots ok, fouls quick though and feels like your running a brush over a file when you clean it... like to upgrad(hell I would like a sako trg instead actually) I would like to stick with a 26" tube, a 1-12" twist, maybe a light target, or heavy sporter contour. I Just use this rifle for plugging coyotes so I think a lighter countour barrel should suffice?

Also, about bedding? A few inches of barrel infront of the lug is the standard? Should I bother with pillars?
What are the options for getting rid of the acutrigger?(fails to fire with gloves sometimes, hate that).

Or should I just junk the savage and go a different direction lol?

Any thoughts or advice apreciated greatly!

What ^ he said, I put a prefit on my Stevens action, first time I ever got 3 shots into 1/8 " . Barrel is shilen, 223rem. 1-7 twist, 90gr. bergers, Lapua cases,CFE223.

From my experience the prefit barrel are great. I purchased a Shilen from mystic for the 223, in a sssm and it shoots great. The varmint contour or heavier sporter would do the job for your purpose. The thing you may consider is getting a slight faster twist maybe a 1:9 this will allow you to shoot a slightly heavier bullet a well as your varmint bullets.

Bedding the barrel as far a as the end barrel nut, supporting the nut with bedding compound has given me great accuracy. You would want to free float the barrel imo.
