Savage Precision/Sniper Rifles

Wicked paint job!!! You should post a Youtube vid on the process...

Savage 10 FCP-K .308 in ATACS camo. Sadly no longer my baby. Wish she still was. But I now own a house so I guess it was worth it.............. I guess...... :(

Someone stole your bolt :p

I really liked my 10PC but sold it because I wanted something bigger than .223 and there were no .308 versions available at the time.

Mine is a 308. The story of how I got it is kinda amusing.

I was in a gunsmith shop and saw this rifle completely disassembled in a bin. The story was the original owner had somehow gotten a live round stuck in the chamber and they had to pull the bbl to get it out. And now the owner was afraid of the rifle and wanted to sell it with only 50 rds down the pipe. Original MSRP was something like $850. I offered $500 and the guy took it.

We reassembled the rifle, got it properly headspaced and I made up some loads from various components I had lyig around my loading bench. From the get go the rifle has printed consistent 5/8" five shot groups and I have taken it out to 700 yds with excellent success. For an impulse buy it has been a great rifle.

I was gonna convert it to 30BR but it shoots so well I can't bring myself to tear it apart.

The PC rifles are nice little rifles. Little on the heavier side for hunting but I'd still take one out :D

They are quite front heavy, I shoot mine with a bipod on the bench, but I've tried to carry it around and even fire offhand standing......I need workout my arms more for that.

I've used mine for hunting over my Tikka T3. The T3 is lighter but I really like the compactness of the 10PC. I may rebarrel the Tikka with a 20" heavy but until that day it will be the Savage.
