Savage Pricing?

Was surfing the WSS website and a few other Canadian gun retailers, and noticed Savage Rimfires have enjoyed the same 25-30% hike in price that the other manufacturers like Ruger etc have. Made me start to wonder, did the workers at the plant get a 30% raise or something? I mean I can see the exchange rate causing a certain increase for american arms, but if im not mistaken, these are still being made in Canada. Anyone else noticed this? and any retailers know why the price got bumped?

There was a rumour a while ago that the Savage plant was going to move to the US, however shortly after that, our dollar took a bit of a nose dive. So I'm also curious as to the status of the move to the US if anyone has info.

You can't discriminate. If everyone else goes up, you do too. It's every gun going up man. Nothing anyone can do about it.

"...these are still being made in Canada..." Cars made here cost more than the same car sold Stateside too. Supply and demand plus the much smaller market and a certain amount of gouging due to the King Obama scare, Stateside.

All things manufactured (here or in the US or China... etc...) new are assesd a MRSP value in US dollar...... If our dollar goes down..... the prices go up...... Have you looked at cars lately????

It'll be interesting alright... but not in the way we're hoping for.

Actually it's hovering in between 80 and 87 cents. I wouldn't count on it going above $1 for quite some time.

Does'nt matter cause savage guns are a great deal.They are reliable and accurate and a good deal for the price.
