Savage pricing

What would a fair price for a savage 111 sythetic/ blued in 300win be worth. But here is the catch, a bent barrel.

Thanks

To be honest if I were in the market for a project gun I wouldn't pay more than $100.00 for it. A new Stevens 200 is commonly available for $369.00 or less. Minus the cost of a "replacement" barrel (about $150.00-200.00), minus the cost of the the go-no gauges, receiver vise and barrel wrench to install it yourself ($50.00-80.00) and you have $169.00 at best and $89.00 at worst difference and the stock may also be damaged requiring repair or replacement. The scope was "crushed" which may have also damaged the screw holes for the bases. A lot of unknowns!!

Even if you use a NEW 111 which can be had for $429.87 @ Cabelas for example (with a scope). The difference is still only $229.87 - $149.87.

If you can get anything over $200 grab it!

Just straighten that bbl out and shoot it. Just be sure not to kink it. 15 Minutes with a vice and a good eye and it will be just as good as new.

I have a gun that got ran over 20 years ago. The bbl is noticeably bent. Probably worse than yours. I have never straightened it out and the gun still shoots very well, even with a hot bbl. All bbls are bent some what none are truly straight.

He bends cranks, too. :D

If it were a lefty, I'd offer you $250 in a heart-beat as a future project (as we have no lefty Stevens rifles). But that isn't the case, someone may want it as a project, but you're going to be "subsidizing" the tool purchases (barrel-nut vise, wrench, go/no-go gauges, etc.) I think anything over $200 is unrealistic in a right-hand, non-accutrigger model, personally.

Your kidding right?

No I am not actually. As long as the bore has not been crushed in an oval shape and the bend is a slight curve and not a sharp kink I would just straighten and shoot.

He says the gun has been fired, was there any problems when the gun was shot with the bent bbl???

Post this in the gunsmith section. Bent bbls *can be* repairable contrary to the popular responses here.

I just see a bunch of guys trying to pick up an action for cheap.

Wasn't dissagreeing with you on the point that barrels can't be fixed but take it to a reliable gunsmith and get it done right, you don't jam it in your vice out in the garage Bubba.

If I wanted a 110 I'd go buy one.
