Finally got some time to put together my PRS trainer. This is a Savage SA in 223 (used to be a 6XC and could be again). Had several factory take offs so thought this would make a great/cheap way to learn positional shooting.

This is a Boyds Pro Varmint stock in Camo laminate. Laser Stippling on the forend and grip. Limbsaver pad takes care of the recoil. More mods will follow as I figure out ideas for barricade stops and supports

CDI DBM inletted into the stock to run polymer mags... AI and MDT.

STAC3-16X42 LRMOA that was used on the Rem 783 is easily transfered over because I will use EGW rails on all rifles.. slot spacing and height stays constant... zero obviously isn't
In keeping with the inexpensive practise, I loaded up some Hornady 22cal 55gr FMJ's... of all the FMJ's I have shot, these continue to be the most accuracte and from this factory pipe, it didn't dissappoint. 100yds testing today.

Win cases, ball powder from Higginson... I will be able to mass produce on a progressive press.

Give me something to learn over the winter months...

The weight of this Savage and my Rem 783 are a few ounces apart. Stocks are identical, ergonomics are identical, bolt cycling is near identical, triggers are similar. And they can share prefits..

Make for a nice combo.

I understand the Mpod is yours, but its not going to be useful in PRS.

Change to a Harris or Atlas. Harris being the most common and quicker of the two.

Oh, the stock will allow for alot of stuff to be mounted.

A foldy bipod is certainly on the menu but I shoot so much better with the MPOD so load testing will be done with this for now.

And you just never know when there will be a LR prone stage where the MPOD will come in very handy....

So all these prs guns your posting about does this mean your gonna come out to some matches next season?

2017 is still going to be a gong show with a range of commitments but I might be able to catch a PRS style match if time allows.

Going forward I would like to mix PRS and F class matches.... there are alot of opportunities a few hours from my door.
