Just picked up a rascal for my 5yo sons first rifle. I can't praise this gun enough, I've been teaching him with my 10/22 so he gets the jist of shooting. I handed it to him gave him a shell and watched him load it, shoulder it, click the safety off then observed him blow the top of a juice jug off at 30 yards. I couldn't believe it, this gun is perfect, very easy for him to handle. If anyone out there is looking for a first gun for their kid I highly recommend the rascal.

There are a few threads about this little beauty. My kid is still in baby form, but in a few years there will be a rascal in the safe. Everything about it is geared to "little shooters". Easy to load, the feed mechanism is great. You dont have to place the round in perfect, it self aligns just right. The rear peep sight is nice easy sight to start with. Good luck and have fun
My son just received one for his 7th birthday. I was able to get a thumb hole stock rascal for him. He loves it. He can load the gun himself with no problems. He wants to be like his brothers and me. We all shoot one form or another. Wife is trying. Enjoy the sport!
