Did you get it sent on time? Did you use a photocopy of your receipt. Was there an actual rebate on that particular model, or did you just take the salesmans word on it?

Savage is usually pretty good on these things. I would wait to see WHY they declined it and go from there. Right now, you do not know WHY, and you should really give them a chance before posting on the internet. Have you contacted Savage Customer Service at the phone number they gave you before you posted this thread?

If the answer is not to your liking, then go back to Cabelas, WITH the documentation, and see what Cabelas says.

I bought a center fire rifle before xmas and cabelas showed it was eligible for the rebate. Did all the stuff and savage denied it saying it didn't qualify. I was annoyed at the time but got over it.
 
I recently got a cheque for $50 USD after buying a Savage Rascal in December. Rebate went through without a hitch. My total cost after the Cabela's sale (with free shipping) and Savage rebate was $160. For the wood stock version.
 
I got mine but my buddy, who bought a similar rifle, had his online application rejected because he photographed his UPC and original receipt together and not separately. They are making him resend it correctly by mail now. We'll see if he ends up getting his cheque for $50US...to be continued.

I was approved, I sent a photograph of the UPC.. not only that but I added a 0 to the UPC code because the Canadian UPC code was 5 instead of 6 digits and the stupid website wanted 6 digits.. never the less I was approved.. Strange world.

I got a letter from them stating that I never provided a serial number for the Rascal I got. Called them and the lady checked my info, she sighed rather loudly then apologized and said she could see it listed in at least 3 spots on the application. Waiting for the $50 USD to show up now.
 
I have never had an issue with mail in rebates with savage. As long as the form is filled out right, you include the original UPC, and original receipt. There shouldn't be an issue, did you double check to make sure the rifle model was eligible for the sale? I wouldn't trust it what Cabela says, they has rifle on their websites that says the rebate are edible on them but they weren't if you read the rebate forms. Savage is pretty good, I had a rebate get lost in the mail, I gave them a call and they told me to email them a copy of the UPC and Receipt and they will send me the rebate ASAP and they did.
 
Still waiting on mine, but only sent in late jan.

Edit. I kept copies of mine, I sent in original receipts, box UPC cut outs with make model , serial number. Completed all forms.

Had mine declined as well. Applied online and sent pic of receipt and pic of UPC on box as well as serial number. Was rejected because Canadian Tire had put a yellow inventory label over top of UPC label and although you could still make out the UPC through it, it was still denied. (I tried peeling the inventory sticker off but it started to rip the UPC label so I had to take a photo with it on top). Once I received the "denied" card in the mail, made a quick call to the 800 number and upon pulling the file it was fixed and approved. Also the card they sent in the mail saying to "resubmit by this date" had passes by the time I received the card but they still approved it. I'd call and ask why it was declined. You'll likely get it worked out and hey it's $50US!
 
I have not done one with Savage, but am currently waiting on one from Federal; this one is an ammo bag and a T-Shirt. (bought a case of .223).
 
Good to know, this will effect wether or not I purchase any new savage product in the future, thanks for posting.
 
Not Savage, I know, but on a similar topic, I bought a Thompson Center Impact from Cabelas. I noticed that the T/C Impact with a scope was advertised with a T/C Mail in rebate, but the un-scoped model that I bought wasn't. I went onto T/C's website to both register for Warranty and try to apply for the rebate online. Register went without a hitch, but when I tried to apply for the rebate, their online form allowed me to select Canada from the pull-down, but only had states, no provinces in that pull-down menu. I sent their customer service an e-mail and the reply was "Sorry rebates only available in USA". I printed off the rebate form, crossed out State, wrote in Province and mailed it off. I had forgotten all about it when I received the check a month or 2 later.
 
Bought two savage rifles, mailed in everything they asked for, received two cheques about two and half weeks ago.
Received my rebate cheques from Federal, took around 10 wks. Also just received two American Eagle rebate cheques yesterday.
For the ammo, wasn't sure, so I clipped out every upc code from all the individual boxes. The envelopes were a bit thick, but they accepted them.
