Savage Scout rifle

I will like to get first hand opinion and experience with this rifle, I intend to get one and will like to receive the opinion of the one in the knowihg...

I haven't handled one, just seen pictures. But, if it's a Savage, how can you go wrong?

It's the first rifle I grab when I take my dogs for a walk, here there is couger ,wolves year round an bears the rest of the time.
The stock is reall y nice the action is smooth the rear site is right on. I have 34 rifles an its my favorite carry gun. George

Thank you Mr George for the info, I will order mine this week, any suggestion for a bullet weight, I know that each rifle are pretty individual, burt I will like to go with 165 grainers, Ballistic tip for deer and something harder for moose or cariboo

"...something harder for moose or cariboo..." You won't need anything but 165 grain hunting bullets. Assuming it's a .308, use IMR4064 with any good bullet. A 165 grain bullet will kill any game you care to hunt.

These were the first groups shot with this rifle after site in...
Hornady 150gr. SST did'nt shoot as well at 1" to 1.6"
-I found the scout scope base to be flexible but I only use the standard mounting anyway...
-I wanted to replace the front site with a fire site...when I tried knocking on the front site with a nylon punch the whole site ramp broke off as there is only one screw holding it on....lesson : use a site pusher
-You can tweak the magizine a little to get a longer OAL...
-As mentioned above by pimlott the action is "really smooth"....
-These rifles are by no means fancy and that is one reason I like it...Best knocking around rifle I have and like pimlott I have a few...

That is a nice rifle you got there. the stock look gorgeous. Nice Buck too!
and Yes the seven oh eight got excellent ballistic, but easier to get three oh eight almost anywhere.
